With church bells ringing all around us at this time of year, we've been dreaming of the perfect wedding here at Print My Smile. As cliched as it is to say, a wedding has to be one of the most important, memorable and magical days in life, and the latest trend in wedding planning has us buzzing with inspiration on how you can make your day as unique as you are as a couple!
More and more couples are throwing out tradition and are making their day more personal for everyone involved by doing it their way. Here’s a run-down of the top tips we’ve found about how to make your day like no other.
In the immortal words of Kirstie and Phil, it’s all about location, location, location! Whether you choose your back garden or the grandest castle in the land, finding a venue that suits your style and taste (and your budget, of course!) is key to making the day the best. Even a dusty old barn can be transformed into the most beautiful setting with the right accessories, a flash of bunting and some twinkling fairy lights!

If you’re pushing the boat out (we didn’t even mention river boat weddings!), you can find something that’s perfect for you, and will be a treasured memory of a lifetime for your guests. If you want something no-one else could ever choose, simply get creative and ask around (do make sure you check any local council requirements before you go to too much expense though – you don’t want any last minute hiccups!). One of the most fun weddings I ever attended was in a local farmer’s field, and the most memorable was probably the one in my old school building that bought back amazing memories for a lot of the guests! Have fun, be creative and make it yours.
You can make any venue uniquely yours with some beautiful personalised accessories too. How about lining a wall with framed posters of your journey as a couple together, or dotting photobooks around the venue showing photos of adventures with your partner and your wedding guests for everyone to enjoy. It will be a great ice-breaker and a fun way for your guests to spend some time while you’re getting the all-important wedding photos taken.
Keep a little back from your guests and share some intimate moments on the day that are just for the two of you. This might be a little love note scribbled on a napkin or a stolen minute for your first married selfie. A super cute way of keeping a little sentiment just between you and your partner is through the rings. Why not get the inside of your wedding rings personalised with each other’s initials, the date, or a word or two from your favourite song? This will create a physical memory of your special day that can be taken anywhere with you and help reminisce the great time you had on your wedding day.

In today’s uberized world, lots of couples now have wedding websites set up to manage their RSVPs and to give extra info for the wedding. Most we’ve seen include an option to ask guests for recommendations on their favourite floor fillers, so get your guests involved to make sure you really get the party started on the night!
If you want everyone dancing the night away, it’s a fab idea to make sure those guests who chose their best 7 inch heals for the occasion can stick it out all night by providing a basket of flip flops or slippers for guests to switch into. You can pick some gorgeous, wedding inspired footwear up for a pound or two at your local Primark, but the value to your guests will be priceless!
Before we hang up our dancing shoes, we have one last suggestion for how to make it the most memorable night: a legendary dance off! Get the DJ to call the shots, drag your craziest friends and family onto the floor, and pitch father against son, bride’s family against groom’s to win the ultimate accolade of dance-off champions!
